Creativity and Innovation– Day 6

20 Mar

Hope you all had a great spring break last week. Save the new thing that you tried for next class project.  We are going to spend time watching your slowmation and talking about the communication project with Taiwanese students.

PART I: VOICETHREAD PROJECT

I enjoyed watching all the videos you made, including the ones made by the Taiwanese students.  It is interesting to see some of the feedback and the things that people want to share with others.  Also, I feel that I know more about all of you.  Some of you did some crazy things that I really hope I can have the chances to try someday!  Here are some questions that we can discuss:

1. Any challenge in using VoiceThread?
2. What is good about this tool?
3. What we can do to make it better for the next two discussion?
4. Have you tried all three different kinds of comment methods?
5. What problems about this tool and this project did you find?

Arthur and I didn’t see much interaction going on in the personal introduction…I feel bad to ask you to keep checking this during spring break too…so, we decided to extend the discussion about personal introduction to this Friday.  Please take these few days to watch your partners’ stories and give comments.  Remember what makes communication effective…  🙂

PART II: SLOWMATION PROJECT

Now, it’s your showtime again!  We will watch all the four slowmation videos together.  Then we will talk about them.

I posted several guiding questions for you to write your feedback to the Slowmation project last time.  If you haven’t upload your feedback to your e-portfolio, you lost one point already.  Please do it before Thursday’s class.

Here are the guiding questions:

1. Which grade level?
2. What is the subject?
3. What is the Georgia Performance Standard that you are using to create this instructional video?
4. Why do you think Slowmation is appropriate for this topic?
5. How are you going to evaluate the students’ understanding?
6. What are the difficulties that you have encountered in this project?
7. Do you like this project? Why or why not?
8. Do you think this idea is good for students’ creativity development? Why?
9. How can we improve this project?

For Thursday:

1. Slowmation project feedback late due.
2. You need to give comments to your partners about their personal introduction.
3. If you haven’t completed the mid-semester course evaluation, please do it.  Thanks!
4. We are going to start another new project: SmartBoard project.  Get ready!

You can download the Smartboard Notebook software here.
